May Be The End Of Another Era.....

The end of the road.

Sadly, the end could be in sight for London's Euro 3 buses as Mayor of London, Boris Johnson announced plans to axe the remaining 900 Euro 3 buses as he believes they are "large" contributors to pollution and heavy air. He has stated that he is trying to remove ALL Euro 3 buses by the end of 2015, resulting in some of our favourite vehicles being taken out of London operations.

This could be the end for Metroline's TP's, VP's, DLD's. The end for London United's TLA's, VP's, DPS's and First's VNW's, TN's and early DMS's.

It means large work could be happening at several bus garages, especially one's with a full Euro 3 fleet such as Harrow Weald, where there is some speculation that the 58/09reg TE's from Holloway may be moving to HD for use on routes 140, 182 and H12. However, these buses could be accompanied by TEH's, who knows.....

MetrolineJack's say:

After LondonBuses72 speech yes the Mayor of London , Boris Johnson is planning to withdraw all Euro 3 buses as they caused too much air pollution and they're aren't green enough for the future.
I personally support the Mayor's plan despite all the greatest Euro 3 buses will be gone by 2015 will be replaced by hybrids or Euro 4/5 vehicles and Euro 6 when out in the future.

So if you missed these rather nice buses make the last 2 years of these buses running on Euro 3!

Garages with full Euro 3 buses will suffer as the entire fleet will be withdraw and out of London where such buses like Enviro 400, Enviro 400H , Wright Gemini 2 (including hybrid), NB4L's may be introduce and for single deckers all vehicles from Euro 4 will be used or new hybrid buses shall be   introduce.

In my area especially South London I'll promise to do a post on all Euro 3 buses with the help of LondonBuses72 to do the Central and West London. The post will be called " The last of the Euro 3 buses - South Side" but that's going to be quite a long time soon.

Buses like the common Plaxton President will be out of service due to high amounts of pollution.
