The Little District Line

During the festive period, track was replaced at Earl's Court, West Kensington and Wimbledon Park on the District Line. This meant there was no District Line service stations west, north or south of South Kensington/ Earl's Court. There was no Wimbledon - Edgware Road service at all, except on Boxing Day to help out with the Stamford Bridge crowds. The Piccadilly Line helped out as it stopped at Ravenscourt Park, Stamford Brook, Turnham Green and Chiswick Park stations all day.

Some trains were also diverted to terminate at Ealing Broadway from Cockfosters/ Oakwood/ Arnos Grove. Some station countdowns were rather confused, such as the one at Hyde Park Corner, which showed Ealing Broadway trains as "Acton Town" and "Check front of train" or "Special". Some trains, such as the one I had traveled on, said that the train was to terminate at Ealing Common!

Works trains have been spotted throughout this period, as Lewis himself catches up with this.

Well, here's the announcement for trains stopping at stations Ravenscourt Park-Acton Town. Apologies for the Ravenscourt Park to Chiswick Park video, mainly due to the train swerving too much (Especially at the start) and being on rough tracks. Also, "The next station" bits may have been slightly missed out. Sorry, although at the station itself is perfectly fine. All is voiced by Julie Berry as usual.

As I said earlier, the trains had destinations of Ealing Common as they are not programmed to terminate at Ealing Broadway. Here is the "Alighting announcement" at Ealing Common, where the driver then says that the train ISN'T terminating here: http://flic.kr/p/iCPaED

That's all, a short post. Note that this may be the last post until 19th January, where the blog hits it's first birthday. Happy new year and see you then!
