Know Your Routes: Route 112

HX04 HTT stands on Haven Green whilst waiting time on the 112.

A very short, direct route is the motorway route 112. It runs between Ealing Broadway Station and Brent Cross, Shopping Centre with one bus coming every 15 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes at other times.

The route uses Caetano Nimbuses which are 10.2m long from Abellio's Hayes (WS) garage  , not the ALX400 in the picture above as it was a odd working from 350's allocation.

The route in 2004 was operated by Tellings Golden Miller, hence the registration plate on one of 112's buses, GM03 TGM,  before being taken over by Travel London.

In 2009, Travel London changed their name to today's Abellio.

YX12 GHG leaves Ealing Broadway station on the 112.

EPTUG (Ealing Passengers Travel User's Group) are proposing to move buses away from Ealing Broadway Station and 112 was possibly planned to extend the route shortly, following the 65 to Bond Street to terminate there. Also, EPTUG have requested for 112 to go via Madeley Road to North Ealing station and follow route there instead of The Mall then North Circular Road as they believe it will:

a) Be the first bus to serve Madeley Road as the road lacks of transport links.
b) Will save mileage
c) Won't get stuck in Gunnersbury Avenue traffic

YN51 KWG on 112. That's an odd working straight off the 350!

  1. Travel London did not "change" their name to Abellio. The operations were declining and the Travel London mess was purchased by a company called Ned Railways based in the Netherlands. It was almost purchased by Metroline, but the bid was outdone by Ned Railways. Who later changed their name to Abellio.
