235: N Brentford ¼

Whilst most enthusiasts would've been over in Central London for the 390 LT conversion
this weekend, I was not at all involved in that and instead I travelled down to a new high-tech estate Brentford known as the Great West Quarter. It features a lot of technology used to minimise pollution and space and maximise ease of movement and ergonomic design. It looks very swish and ahead of its time.

In September it was announced that the 235 was going to be extended at the beginning of October to the aforementioned estate, but this was delayed many times and the change eventually happened on December 7th, 2013.

So, the 235 abandoned the stand at Brentford, County Court (which is now just left to the 195) and was extended just over half a mile to the Great West Quarter (seen as North Brentford Quarter on the blinds) via Brentford High St and Ealing Rd.
Most of the newer Abellio vehicles at Fulwell (TF) are blinded for North Brentford Quarter, but not the old ones, meaning that the allocation of the route has had to be altered to allow for this - the older vehicles previously found on the route will probably make more appearances on the other routes from that garage.

Pictures follow!

Well, it's certainly good to see an extension in London's Bus Network, as all it seems to be these days are cutbacks and curtailments which annoy everyone.

Many thanks for reading this post, and remember to stay safe!

    1. Thanks!
I didn't quite have the time or the bother to cover the 390 this weekend, so I covered the 235 which turned out to be far more interesting, especially taking a look around North Brentford Quarter - the latest high-tech modern estate in London which is taking many sustainable steps to better itself from the rest!

  2. I'm covering that tomorrow. I'm doing the 390 between Christmas and New Year.
