Arriva the Shires: New Optare Versas for Route 10
The Garston depot of Arriva the Shires is one of the few garages which operates services on contract to Transport for London and their own commercial services too. Recently they have put a large investment into one of their commercial services: the number 10.
This morning, I made the journey up to Watford to get some pictures of these new buses. They are very nice buses with blue headlamps, LED interior lighting and the stylish Arriva branding!
The route runs from Woodside through Watford Junction and Watford Town Centre to Holywell Estate, and previously used a mixture of Plaxton Centros and Optare Solos. On March 1st, it had a frequency increase to every 10 minutes, and a fleet of 10 brand new Optare Versas with PerfectTen branding to run the route. If it's of any coincidence, the 10-journey ticket on route 10 costs £10! There's a theme here...
