Route 427 Updates!

VN37866 stands at former eastern terminus, Horn Lane.
For a while on the 427, re-development of Acton's swimming pool is causing Salisbury Street,to close for a while. Ever since, the buses are going back to there old terminus on Acton, Market Place which only 70 terminates at now.

Buses will return to normal routing soon, however for now - This diversion is going to wind up people on Acton High Street as the route won't serve there (To Uxbridge).

A few more pictures:

Metroline's World - VP's and VPL's

VPL175 heads towards Golders Green on route 260.
Yes, it's a VPL on 260, reason why, it's all below.

As of recently, there are roadworks happening in Wealdstone meaning that the local buses that run in the area:

140 (Heathrow Central - Harrow Weald, Bus Garage)
182 (Brent Cross - Harrow Weald, Oxhey Lane)
186 (Northwick Park Hospital - Brent Cross) although several journeys may run as far as Edgware

Route 182 on your left.

These routes are to have a PVR rise for a while so buses from Willesden (AC) have transferred to Harrow Weald (HD) (140/182) and spares at Edgware (EW) are being used for 186 during this PVR rise. The buses transferred to HD are used from route 260 so VPL's that are being displaced from 52, whilst the route gets its VW/VWH's, are more common to be seen on 260 now.

VW1396 on 52. These new buses will displace VPL's on to 260 meanwhile.

Also, VPL222 from Holloway (HT) garage has transferred to help out with the cold snaps
at HD and also VP346 that was involved in a car incident on the H12 last month, but will join VPL207 during these diversions.

Have Transferred to HD:

- VP474
- VP476
- VP477
- VP480 + - VPL222
- VP481
- VP484
VPL222 on transfer at Heathrow, stand 19. This 140 is ready to start the journey back to Harrow Weald.

Thanks for reading this post, hope you've enjoyed it and remember to stay safe!

Know Your Routes: Route 440

The 440:
The longer one out of the two, runs between Chiswick, Power Road to Stonebridge Park. The route uses 07reg plated Enviro 200's, maybe the first of it's type, and is operated by London United from their Park Royal (PK) garage.

Like the 272, the 440 replaced former route H40 from Turnham Green then continued its own way to Stonebridge Park. The route was operated by Transdev London from there Stamford Brook Garage using Plaxton Pointer 2's.

In 2007, the route was won by devoloping company, NCP-Challenger, who opened up today's Park Royal (PK) garage, where the route is operated from. At the same time, new buses were introduced onto 440 numbered in NCP's fleet system which the code for E200 that were 10.2m was ADL. These were one of the first Enviro 200's to enter service in Britain.

In 2008, the 440 faced a short extension from Turnham Green to Power Road via Oxford Road North and Wellesley Road via the back of Gunnersbury Station in swap with H91 which would go straight instead of Oxford Road North.

In 2009, NCP Challenger were bought out by London United RATP Group and all the "ADL's" were renumbered into LU's fleetnumbers "DE's". All the NCP logos were replaced with London United stickers.

In 2012, some of the 440's DE's transferred to S after C1's/272's transfer. These vehicles were DE85-92.

Nowadays, SDE's from the E11 and OV's from 283 escpae onto the route. I do have a shot of an SDE on the route below:

And I do have 2 pictures of an OV on 440:

Not a really good picture as my camera just turned on, sorry for that!

TE938 on 82?! Now I call that an odd working - or not?

LK58 KHC stands at Victoria on route 82.
Now the 82 uses TPL's, as of February 25th 2013, but the route is to get brand new TE's from next month, with some buses already arriving at CELF but TE's from 263's allocation keep appearing on the route. I decided to make a list below on why it is an odd working and why it's not:

Reasons why it is an odd working:

- The route has not gained the TE's that are to enter service, it's still February so the buses don't enter service until March.

- TE938 and any other bus from this batch of vehicles will not become part of 82's allocation as far as we know, for now.

- The route is to still use TPL's for now.

- The route is to use Euro 5 TE's not Euro 4.

Reasons why it isn't an odd working:

- Metroline has a strong love of shuffling vehicles in-garage and between garages so this bus could end up being on 82's allocation (Unlikely).

- These type of buses are going to be in service next month.

Those were my statements on what I think, that it is an odd working, but if you have different opinions, leave a comment below! I hope you've enjoyed reading this post and remember to stay safe!

Bus News - 24 February 2013

First Centrewest:
- The Gemini 2's at Hayes (HS) are returning to service, however there are still 1 or 2 DN's running the route from Greenford (G) garage.

London United:
- Most of 27's new ADH's have arrived in service, although ADH42-51 have not entered service.

ADH32 on 27.

- Twickenham (NC) garage is set to close meaning 33 is to transfer to Fulwell (FW) garage whilst 419 transfers to Stamford Brook (V). Keep your eyes peeled for these buses being on other routes across these two garages.

- During this event, 33 will have a new timetable to co-operate with the changes that are to come in effect on 2nd March 2013.

Metroline:
- Most of 52's VW/VWH's have entered service as the blog has already covered a post on these buses yesterday.

One of 52's new buses (VWH1417).

- The VPL's on 52 will move to use on 260 whilst a few VP's from 260's allocation transfer to Harrow Weald (HD) for a PVR rise on routes 140 and 182.

- VPL222 from Holloway (HT) garage has joined VPL207 after the cold snap recently affected buses at HD. This follows after VP346 was involved in a car accident whilst on the H12 last month.

- The TEH's for route 189 are to start arriving soon as they are to enter service next month allowing the 10/60reg TE's to move to EW for use on 113. There is some speculation that the buses are to go on other route's allocation at W as these buses may have come in a batch of 43 vehicles (?) releasing some vehicles to suburban garages within the comapany.

- The TE's for route 82 have started to arrive, with some being at CELF centre awaiting commissioning.

- Route 46 has been extended to St Bartholomew's Hospital from Moorgate after the bus terminus in Moorgate was closed permanently. Slight alterations to the timetable.

Abellio London:

- The Enviro 200's for route H28 have started to enter service since yesterday numbered 8583-8591.

- Abellio London YX12 GHF and YX12 GHG are at Hayes (WS) garage which at the blog are unknown why they are there. They will be seen commonly on routes U7 and 112.

Metrobus:

- The Enviro 200's for route 233 have entered service as the route was gained back from Arriva.

Epsom Buses:

- This weekend called for the end of temporary route 560 in the Streatham Common area. The buses used on 560 will got back to normal service. This was a free route introduced whilst a diversion was going on.

Vodafone - London United's Full Collection (ADH)

ADH5/ SN60 BXZ stands at Acton Green on the 94.
All-over bus advertisements are becoming more and more common, with Vodafone contributing a lot of it. I have pictures of all of ADH's with the Vodafone livery which are ADH5 and ADH6 which are stationed at Shepherd's Bush (S) for routes 94 and 220 (Night only).

Finally Here: Route 52's New Buses!

A new VW at Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's.

Finally, the buses that are destined for route 52 have finally arrived. These VW's and VWH's are starting to enter service as the buses were delayed for entering service. This was due to the fact type training was delayed due to the cold weather we've been experiencing in January. This will allow the VPL's to finish their lives as London buses and to be sold to EnsignBus.

The buses came in a batch as half-diesels, half-hybrids with all buses being on Whole Type Approval (WTA). The buses luckily have the "Hybrid" logo has come back after they disappeared from 27's batch of new ADH's.

The buses are numbered VW1393 - VW1407 and VWH1408 - VWH1419 but to see the fleetlist, see Know Your Routes: Bring The Newbies On To 52; Part 2.

75% of the buses have entered service on 52 and according to LVF, VW1394 may have been on N98 on the first night of public service.

Anyways, I'm going to allow you to see the photos of the VPL buses before they go, pictures of them on routes across Willesden:

VPL175 on 260 to Goders Green.
VPL168 approaches "Kensal House". This foolish car had to be in the way!

Here's more photos of the new buses:

Also, I have a picture of the hybrid version (VWH):
