More Of The Tubes Out: Rail Replacement Services

A rail replacement bus at Ealing Broadway.

Trains aren't common on this blog but when we have a coverage of the rail replacement, we'll call it a post.

This weekend sees more of the underground being suspended, especially in West London where it's a total blackout on all tube lines, except the Central Line. The London Overground  is also out of service today as part of the mayor's upgrade plan.

As usual, the rail replacement was mainly made up of Go-Ahead London Citaro's from routes 507 and 521 with a few smaller contributions from other companies such as a few First VNW's  from Atlas Road garage, few TA's from London United's Fulwell Garage and a few TP's from Metroline.

The Piccadilly Line is suspended between Hammersmith and Northfields with no train services to Rayners Lane/ Uxbridge.

The District Line is suspended between Richmond/ Ealing Broadway and West Kensington.

The London Overground is suspended between Richmond and Willesden Junction.

Rail replacement buses operate on all of these routes. I have only gotten pictures of the Citaros as they were the most common.

  1. Interestingly, Abellio seem more prepared for trams than tube, or rail, services: http://flic.kr/p/dTyCZt
    Anyway, good post once again!
